St. Louis designer Joe Papendick has a line of freestanding welded copper and steel birdfeeders that act as garden sculpture as well. Most of the feeders stand between 5 and 6 feet tall and are meant to be planted right into the ground outside. All the feeders are entirely handmade and will develop distinct patinas over time. Each feeder has a metal base to anchor the structure into the ground and steel rods that act as the stem. A stainless steel screen is used for the bird seed and each perch is usually covered by a roof to protect the birds and their food from the elements.
These are great, Jenn!
