I need your help!

So my husband and I have decided to get a new wood burning stove insert, something that has a blower that will really warm up the house in the winter. Right now it's just some glass doors and brick behind it (the current doors are not original).

Having walls of windows can feel a bit chilly, and when ever we used the fireplace it would actually make the room even colder. So we started looking for something modern, but most fireplace inserts in the US look so ornate and dated. To make matters worse our fireplace opening is a weird size and the stone mantle really narrowed down what we could do. Soooo... we found a company that makes custom fireplace inserts. We can do what ever we want! I want one large door, but there are lots of options for what colors it can be. It's such a tough decision! I'm going for a rustic - modern look. Anyone have a favorite look?

I think I'm most drawn to the copper. Second place is the black. Good luck! I'm horrible with decisions like these, when it comes to my own house :)

Yeah I hate making these decisions too. I wish I could get some little metal samples to look at, maybe that would help.

Black matte is our choice (husband agrees) and blends well with your decor. When a fire is lit, the flames will be the focus. Lovely decor. The black also acentuates the back lattice partition.

I would either go all out with the japanese patina or completely toned down with the matt black. the other bronze patina looks a little drab and the copper one blends a little too well with the color of your floors. My two cents!

Definitely the black. It provides great contrast. The second choice would be copper.

The other options seem too have too much purple; I'd hate to be stuck with that.

My fave is the Japanese brown.

Definitely japanese brown... It has the rustic look you're looking for, while still matching your decor.
Matte Black is a second place for me, but it's not rustic at all.
I think the other colors are too light. Good luck!!

Your house is otherwise awesome by the way.

I like the Japanese brown. it has the rustic element you want and goes well with your decor. I like how the rust in it goes with your orange-y wall and it pulls the dark bits from the artwork above the fireplace into focus.

I like the Japanese brown and the black and even the copper. The black to me seems like the safe route and I want this to be a unique looking fireplace. This house has a lot of interesting brass and wrought iron elements so I want this to be special.

Guess I'm gonna be the annoying customer and ask for metal samples.

Matte black or Japanese brown. Deciding between those two is the hard part. Good luck and I can't wait to see your fireplace after its complete!!

I find the copper really striking! It picks up on the tones of the wood and the floor. I think it still has enough contrast against the wall and it draws my eye in to it's warmth and strength.

Lovely choices- it will fun to see what you both pick.

either the matte black or the aged bronze...you have a lot of reds/oranges in your decor and those two would compliment the best!

*I meant the aged bronze, not aged copper

Copper - seems more unique than black or brown.

What brand of insert did you go with, maybe I missed that part. We are looking into the same thing. Having a hard time finding something streamlined enough for our Techbuilt.

We are going custom and it's gonna cost us! The site is called http://acucraft.com/.
