Bedroom

So last night I bought some gray paint called brushed aluminum from Benjamin Moore. I painted the high wall behind my bed, it's subtle but it helps tame that big wall. I also finally put up the cute vinyl decal that I bought months ago. It looks great above my bedroom door. Now I just need some art for above the bed. I really wanted to put up a bunch of framed art scattered on the wall but the wall is made of concrete and I don't really have a way of experimenting with nails. I will keep you all updated.

looks great...i love a nice subtle warm gray for walls. what about a picture rail on the bed wall? that way it's only a few nails for the rail itself.

Go to a hardware store and look, or ask, for "hard wall picture hangers".

I have the right hardware but it will be hard putting up a whole bunch of frames in a scattered pattern.

I am SO GLAD that this house wound up in your hands, because you are obviously respecting its design and treating it with the care houses of this era are not usually afforded.

It's looking great, Jenn!

Jenn-
Your house looks great. What incredible floors! When are you going to treat us to a room by room tour? It's amazing!

I hope to soon!

You know what might be easier is just hanging a picture rail a foot down from your ceiling, and then hanging everything on cables from that. Or something similar. You won't be able to sporadically scatter pictures as much, but it would be easier since you are only attaching the rail.

I have all brick and concrete walls in my building , I invested in a hammer drill!
Its my best friend! Just use it to drill a hole for an anchor, and go to town!
