The Guildery: Modshop
For a limited time get free shipping and %20 using the code: PREVIEW
With midcentury-modern-meets-Gatsby glam, this collection creates a powerful statement for a lounge area. The eggshell and smokey green restrains the pinks from getting too sweet. We selected coordinating linens and cottons in similar colors.

Yay I did it! Check out my Tiki Tok fabric in action!
I'm also going to wallpaper the opposite wall with Tiki Tok wallpaper. Sadly the wall was really badly plastered and it's far from smooth so I'm not sure what I'm going to be about that. hmm...
Hopefully I will think of something.

Me, make curtains?
Ordered some new fabric samples from Spoonflower. I'm thinking I might order more for myself and make a curtain for over the sink area and maybe matching placemats. I can sew, but I'm not that great at it. Hopefully I can pull this off, lol
They also do wallpaper. I think sticking some of this Tiki Tok pattern on the opposite wall could be awesome....

First round of Spoonflower samples!
I have the capability of printing fabric on my own printer at home. When I have thrown those printed pieces in the wash they get all faded. There are steps to colorfast, but it's just not worth it for me.
For a few years I've been thinking of trying Spoonflower and I finally uploaded some designs. As I type this I'm wondering now will their fabrics do the same thing, hmmmm.
Did I like it?
Well I really like the quality of the wrapping paper, the colors look great! As for the fabric there is a dullness that doesn't look right, I also encountered that when I printed at home with my epson printer (basically a large scale inkjet). So my tiki heads look a bit muddy, but I think if I bump up the contrast of the lines and lighten the green background it will look better.
This was printed on their linen fabric, when I think of linen I want something with a bit more texture and give but that's impossible to do since they are feeding this through a printer and you need a smooth surface for the ink needle.
I should have more samples coming this week, and I ordered a swatch book of all the fabric choices they offer. Not really liking this linen, but I think it would work for a curtain but not as clothing.

Red Flash - I knew I recognized this design: Eley Kishimoto
Pleated retro dress from Forever 21
Flash Pattern wallpaper by Eley Kishimoto
![]() |
| Eley for Clarks
Eley Kishimoto is a partnership between Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto. In the mid 1990's they created their first womeanswear collection. The company also puts their prints on home decor products like wallpaper and furnishing fabrics.
When I first saw this pattern floating around online ages ago I thought it was much older. I guess I can see a pop 90's reference but when it's in the red and cream it gives off a mid-century vibe, which I LOVE.
So today I see this dress on Forever 21's website and I know I've see in before. I have heard of F21 taking ideas which stinks but on the bright side I guess we all learned a little bit about the actual designers today. Giving credit where credit is due.
Below are more wallpaper designs.

Modern Quilts Unlimited
Casey York who is a quilter and surface designer made this beautiful piece! It will also be featured in this summer's issue of Modern Quilt Unlimited. It's hard to see from the picture but it uses fabric from my Mod Century fabric line. On a sad note Moda has discontinued the line, so if you ever wanted to buy some yardage now is the time since I won't be able to order anymore in the future.
