When I go to the local garbage dump, it's exciting! Why? Well, the people who run the dump also have an area where people can drop off unwanted items where they are resold at bargain prices. Recently I picked up this bench with hidden storage for $10. I just love the seat covering but not loving the birch legs. I was thinking painting it white or black or some kind of funky bright color. Any suggestions?

you really have the knack for finding these things, jenn! i'd love to see that with bright yellow or kelly green legs - i think it would be fabulous!
Go with a color that you have that's an accessory. Maybe a favorite pillow or wall color? Or maybe a mustard-yellowish color, somewhere along with the warm tones. :)

How atomic, Ski! It's a piano bench, right? I actually think the wood stain is quite indicative of the era and like it a lot. I shy from painting over natural wood.
Vintage inspired colors would be nice, like mustard or creamy yellow, or dusty blue, or orange. Something that goes with the rest of your home... wonder if reddish brown or staining the wood a teak color could work.
Nice find Jenn, I love it. And I think it'd be super fun to do a bright yellow or a seafoam... or the color you're currently digging the most.
