Flowers in the Attic (2014)

You may remember the book or the strange 80's movie, well Lifetime has decided to remake "Flowers in the Attic". It stares Kiernan Shipka and Heather Graham as the Mother.

When her husband dies, she returns home in the hopes of getting her father's inheritance but must keep her "evil spawn" hidden (with the help of her evil mother, played by Ellen Burstyn). The children live in the attic for years before they realize that their mother has actually abandoned them.

I'm looking forward to the visuals, it will be set in the 1970's 1950s.

It premiered Saturday night but will air again tonight 9/8c.

Hell yes, thanks for the reminder. I was just re-reading this book, I'm excited to watch it for the same reason, to admire the styling/set-design. The book has a lot of horror elements adaptation never get right though. Did they move this up the 70s? The first book took place in the 50s. Curious!

I never read the book, I just watched the 80's movie, which always left me clueless.

Yes I'm hearing it's going to take place in the 1970's.

This movie was still not as good as the book—or as good as I remember it that is. I remember growing up reading the series of really long books...Flowers in the Attic, Petals on the Wind; If There Be Thorns...

Ahhhh, the good ol' days!

I never read the books, just the weird 80's movie. Yeah I hear the books are a lot more detailed. I'll have to read them!
