Now that the ground is thawing I've been spending my afternoons outside moving dirt around and my husband has been preparing the carport for the new garage door. Also we are starting to rethink the design for the walkway. Once the garage door is in place the front door will be the only entrance to visitors and that will need to be shoveled out in the winter. I'd like more of a flat surface than the cement circles with stones we were originally planning. I'm thinking of redesigning the walkway to have shapes like these with moss planted in the negative parts like this. We are still very undecided...
It still looks like a mess but hopefully in the weeks to come the walkway will be done and we will have a patch of grass where that dirt is.

Wow that is a lot of work but looks great.
Wow - a nice clean palate to start out with! I like the large pavers/ moss idea. I cannot wait to see pictures as the landscape plan evolves. The Maston house in your link made my jaw drop. Spectacular!
ohhh - its going to look f*ing awesome. clearing away all the brush really makes the house pop.
Good luck! And that is quite lovely, the walkway. Have fun =)
I love the look of those large pavers! Really suits the house well.
It's cool to see you guys able to work on the landscaping out front. I remember seeing that you guys where trying to figure out what to do with what I think was a vent??? I might have missed something. What did you decide to do with it?
Check out this Curb Appeal redo. The house reminds me of yours and check out what they did with the walk way.

thanks for the link.
That's similar to one of my first designs but my husband doesn't seem to like any of them. I think due to the strange angles we need to create to avoid the water cap makes everything look weird. sigh
