Carpet floor tiles

I found some amazing carpet floor tiles at flor.com. I was never a big fan when they first came out, they reminded me something you would see in a doctors office. The new designs are really winning me over. I'd like to update the the carpet in the Foyer and under the dinning room table, two areas that get quite dirty. I'm really liking the black and white stripes (featured in the first picture). Also the website allows you to buy samples, 3 for $5.

New window

Clumsy me let a ladder slam against the kitchen window back in the summer, cracking one of the panels. I felt bad, but in the long run I think it was a good thing. Many of the windows in my home are old and drafty, this will hopefully be the first of many more replacements.
So the new window was on our summer to do list, but time flew by as it always does. When the cold weather hit a few weeks ago we ordered it immediately and now it's finally here. My husband and my dad will hopefully put it in this weekend. Yay for handy men!

House Design

Love the gray and citrus in the living room, that is currently one of my favorite color schemes.
This mid-century house was designed by Jill Lewis and Lane Williams of Coop 15 Architecture. Later renovated by Robin Chell Design studio. Click here to view more pictures.

Christmas ornament preview
Around this time of the year when it's getting cold I start thinking about Christmas decorations. Yes I know Halloween hasn't even pasted us by yet, but I need all that time to hunt those down special ornaments! This year I want to dress up my aluminum tree with silver, white and clear ornaments. Do you have any interesting color combos you want try out this year?

Frank Roop interiors

Loving Frank Roop's interiors! He is based in Boston, but some of his designs look more suited for a warm beachy location.
Frank began his firm in 1998 after a career in fine men’s specialty store retailing. The principles of design he learned in menswear helped give him the basis for formulating and conceptualizing his design schemes.

New and improved!

Good news, everyone! I have added the option of purchasing my 7"x9" prints without matting, thus shaving $6 off the matted print price ($35 without the mat, down from $41 with matting.) This also allows me to ship prints in a flat mailer, which means the cost of shipping also drops! Most standard frames come with matting, so some people have been asking for this option for a while. The acid-free, archival quality backing is still included in the price, so you don't have to worry about your print getting damaged during shipment, or being too loose in your frame.
"But Jenn, I've purchased prints from you in the past and I want my new prints to have matching mats..."
"Yeah, and I don't want to have to deal with buying matting!"
No problem, customers I just made up! I'm selling the matting separately ($6, so your total price of a print + matting remains as it was before) and I will mat your prints like I've always done - just take them out of the package and slip them into a frame!

Planting bulbs

It's that time of year again: sweater weather means it's bulb planting time! The images above are some of the bulbs I bought recently. I've planted some, but plan on planting the rest this weekend. This is the first time I have bought these kinds of flowering bulbs. I hope to see some amazing things happen in the spring. I planted 120 crocus bulbs (my favorite) and got a lot of different types of alliums and some tulips.

What a great idea!
I've always wanted one of those Swiffer things - they just seem so convenient! But having to buy the refills angered me. It's not just the extra expense, but thinking about all the extra junk I'd be sending to the landfill made me crazy, so I never got one.
Enter Rubbermaid and their new Reveal Spray Mop. I just saw a commercial for it on TV. It comes with a microfiber pad that is reusable so you no longer have to buy disposable pads. And the spray bottle is refillable, which means you can use whatever cleaning solution you want to use.
No more waste or expensive refills. Yay!
Vintage finds

I spent my weekend at a flea market and at various thrift shops and I found some amazing things, well I think they are super duper anyway! I got a beat up old Picasso replica that looks very old, these amazing atomic candle holders and some really cute owl salt and pepper shakers. Be sure to check out my vintage items for sale on Etsy, I can only keep so much!

Mattress

I'm in love with my new bed! My cat Floyd loves sleeping on it and when ever I can't find him he's usually there snoozing.
The side tables have yet to be started, but we finally have all the materials we need. Al even got hardware that allows the drawers to close slowly when pushed in, much like in this kitchen featured below.
